The OEMTOOLS 25682 1/2” Drive Digital Torque Wrench Adapter turns any 1/2” drive ratchet or breaker bar into a digital torque wrench. The ability to use any 1/2” drive ratchet or breaker means it’s easy to get as much or as little leverage as you need for any particular job and makes this an incredibly flexible tool. And because it’s precise to within +/- 2%, you’re getting a level of precision that’s frankly not possible for most popular torque wrenches. The 40-200 Nm range is good for a wide variety of automobile, motorcycle, golf cart, lawn mower, and camper / trailer repairs. The adapter is simple to use. It features an easy to read LCD screen, with simple up and down buttons for changing torque, and when you’ve reached your target torque, the adapter audibly buzzes. Properly torquing fasteners is a safety issue. It’s a common misconception that over torquing a fastener makes it less likely to loosen. In fact, this puts additional stress on your fastener and makes it more likely to fatigue. Both over and under torquing and over torquing increase the chance of fastener loosening and fastener damage. The best way to keep fasteners from loosening from vibration is to ensure you tighten each fastener to the manufacturer’s specifications and use Loctite, or something similar.
