Ten Love Songs

Sixth album from Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her last album the Silicone Veil topped the charts in Norway. At this album’s centerpiece is the ten minute long “Memorial” song, a giant song that evolves from a fragile and hopeful start to a heartbreakingly beautiful work based on chamber orchestra and piano. The 1980’s styled centrally important piece throughout Ten Love Songs is worth the effort. The solo on ” Fade Away ” is heavily inspired by Queen, while the song ” Kamikaze ” (we heard someone say Madonna’s “Like a Prayer “) is one of several cases where pop music structure and architecture have shaped the outcome. In addition to many 80s references and pop songs, there is also a high degree of vulnerability that emanates from the album – for example on the tracks ” Darlings ” and ” Trust Me “.
