From AudioFile
What sets this dystopian story apart is superb plotting and characters with emotional depth. Narrator Kim Guest delivers the exciting plot with a skilled use of timing, emphasis, and nuance. Incarceron is a prison, originally intended for humane treatment and rehabilitation–until it developed a mind of its own. Centuries later, Claudia, daughter of the warden, dreads marrying the queen’s unpleasant son. Further, she thinks she may have found the key to the prison and to the mystery of what has become of the lovely boy to whom she was originally betrothed. Guest delivers a stellar performance, building the tension to a pulse-pounding conclusion. D.G. Winner of AudioFile Earphones Award © AudioFile 2010, Portland, Maine
