With the Charcoal Companion cast iron gas grill V-shaped smoker box, you can add flavor & moisture to your foods as you grill; simply fill the box with pre-soaked wood chips or pellets & get grilling! smoke & moisture vapor will emerge from the lid’s perforations & make your food flavorful & tender. This V-shaped smoker box fits between flame deflector bars on gas grills, positioning smoke right beneath grill grates for the most intense flavor. The box also works as a traditional smoker box sitting directly on grates. To convert to a traditional smoker box, remove the lid & place under the box; the box nestles securely in the lid’s grooves. The durable cast iron construction is ideal for repeated uses. Wood chips not included. Use: soak the wood chips or pellets of your choice & drain well. Add chips or pellets to your smoker box, place the lid, & put the box on the grill grate directly over the gas burner. Pre-heat your grill with the lid closed. As your grill heats up, smoke & moisture vapor will emerge from the smoker box’s perforations. Once the grill has come to the desired temperature, place food in the grill near smoker box & close the lid during cooking. Add more chips or pellets as needed. Care: to preserve the useful life of your smoker box, hand wash with hot water only & dry immediately. Cast iron is porous, do not allow to soak. Do not wash in the dishwasher.
