Marcus Adams: Royal Photographer

In high society of 1920s England, Marcus Adams was far and away the leading photographer of children, with a portfolio that could have served as a who’s who of the next generation of the social, cultural, and political elite. At the height of his success, the royal family commissioned him to make portraits of their children, starting with the Duchess of York and her daughter, the infant Princess Elizabeth, in 1926 and continuing through his last royal sitting thirty years later.
